Juror Joseph Lampo, Chief Curator of the Arkansas Art Center, selected Brent Funderburk’s painting, “Nightwatch“, as the Best In Show” winner, along with a $1,000 prize in February, at the “2009 Mississippi Art Faculty Juried Exhibition” at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art in Laurel Mississippi. The artist’s watercolor/acrylic piece, “Aspiration II” was also selected for the show. Forty university art faculty members from 16 institutions of higher learning in Mississippi submitted 120 works for consideration.
